Lifecycle

Background
The lifecycle of a Chad and Trixie is not complicated. There are simple elements that must be in place in order for a person to advance from one stage to another.
North Shore
The Chicago North Shore is the origin of Chad and Trixie. They are children of affluent families that live in Highland Park, Lincolnshire, Deerfield, Northbrook, Glencoe, Winnetka, Glenview, Wilmette, Evanston or Lake Forest.
Prep School
Public education is not the desired route for a budding Chad or Trixie. They are sent to preparatory school in order to learn the fine social skills that will put them above the average person. Here they will learn to be comfortable with having blue and white collar people doing manual labor for them. Lake Forest Academy is a suitable facility as long as Chad gets his own BMW at 16 so he can impress the local TITs (Trixies in Traning).
Big 10 University
Chad’s degree must be in pre-law while Trixie’s degree will be in marketing or merchandizing. When arriving on campus, they will scope out the fraternity or sorority that will produce the best opportunities in their future. Leads in government or law for Chad will go along way and help land a better job at the firm. Trixie will most likely leverage her social connections.
Move to Lincoln Park
The move after university is a paramount step in the lifecycle. Chad will find an apartment on Sheffield with a few of his college drinking buddies while Trixie will prefer the shop-lined streets of Armitage or Halsted. Proximity to the Armitage or Fullerton Brown Line stops, number of bars and shops are all factors that are under consideration.

Mate
The merging of affluent genes will pass along the traits to the next generation of Chad or Trixie.
Die
When Chad and Trixie reach their thirties, it is time to move back to the suburbs and raise the family. The Chicago North Shore is a suitable place for a young couple. The allure of land and private education bring out the mother instincts in Trixie and she will demand the purchase of a house. This is where the lifecycle will start over.

You missed the mark here, Brent.
Most Trixies come from small towns in places like Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and even Michigan. To them, Chicago is the ‘big city’. They’re ‘movin on up’ (to steal from the Jeffersons), and they want to shed their small town roots. No more deBunk, IA for me anymore!!
Gist of it all: These girls fully understand the two coasts and what cosmopolitan really means. Of course, that’s what the LPTS was all about.
This graphic is beautiful! It reminds me of the spawning of salmon, or similarly geographically bound creatures.
If Chad and Trixie are attending prep schools, why would they go to college at a Big 10 University, the majority of which are public institutions? Wouldn’t Chad apply for the Ivy League and Trixie for the now-mostly-coed Seven Sisters?
Trixie and Chad don’t go to East Coast schools where their money, hometowns and trips to Cancun can’t compete with the children of investment bankers and former publishing execs. Trixie and Chad have a social currency that only works in the Midwest. Lucky us.
I agree re: prep school. Trixie & Chad will go to a highly ranked public school in the burbs. I know this, because they tend to brag about how their school was ranked #1 for this, that, and the other.
As a CIT (chad in training of course), I hail from the North Shore. I would like to mention that we pride ourselves in the outstanding nature of the public schools we attend. We could attend Loyola Academy of course, but why would we when we all know that New Trier is superior in every way.
Dave is spot on.
I would only add that these Iowa/Wisconsin/Indiana Trixies are the epitomy of the “Social Climber” label that gets passed around loosely.
